YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:
Reporting to the Health and Safety Training Supervisor, you will be part of the Health and Safety Department. You will complete the prerequisite training against the KLG Mill Classification Guideline for operators of the Mill and Laboratory. You will actively support Ontario Ministry of Labour compliance regarding OHSA requirements. You will also ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
Provides instruction and guidance to site employees on the proper use of various equipment on site
Supports Mill training curriculum, training schedules and safe operating procedures
Provides leadership necessary to ensure that employees and contractors adhere to safety and environmental standards in conjunction with the safety and environmental department
Assess qualifications and on the job training of all new employees
Perform regular training needs analysis and ensure accurate and comprehensive training records are maintained
Liaise with mine staff, safety and human resources staff and others
Ensures employees are adequately assessed and training for their assigned work as well as updating training records
Continues to identify new ways to improve training and ways to implement them
Promotes OHSA and Company policies and procedures
Maintain Integrated Management System (Document Control) consistent with KLG standards
Suggest & track policy updates, regulations, and safety standards issued annually by our Company
Follows-up on safety related recommendation
Complies with and evaluates training statistics
Communicated all safety policies and procedures to other departments for consistency and ensure they meet company standards and legislated requirements
Other duties as may be assigned from time to time
Responsible for storage and care of Hazmat suits
Responsible for storage & care of SCBA’s
Will be part of the Hazmat Team
Help investigate all incidents/accidents at the mill
Oversee quality control of completion of inspections and Investigations
A Safety resource as required
Other duties as requested from time to time
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
High School Diploma
Tertiary Degree or equivalent
Train the Trainer
Work Experience: 10 years on operational experience
Certificates/Licenses: Valid Driver's License;
Exceptional, proven interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
