Job description

Description

Roden Oral, Facial, and Dental Implant Surgery is seeking a skilled and committed Surgical Assistant to join our team and assist us in delivering exceptional care to our patients. Our core belief is putting the patient’s needs first, and it underlies every aspect of our practice.

The ideal candidate for the Surgical Assistant position should possess a natural inclination towards providing excellent care.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Assist the Oral Surgeon during a variety of surgical procedures.

• Prepare treatment rooms for patients by following required procedures and protocols.

• Take dental x-rays of excellent, diagnostic quality.

• Review patient health history to ensure it is recorded accurately and completely.

• Serve as an infection control officer by following infection control protocol and sterilizing instruments and equipment.

• Help patients feel comfortable before, during and after surgical treatment.

• Provide patients with post-operative instructions for oral care following surgery or other oral treatment procedures.

• Record doctor notes and vital sign information during a surgical procedure or office consultation.

• Perform office management tasks that often require the use of a computer and practice software.

• Maintain patient confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential per HIPAA guidelines.

Requirements

• 1+ years of Surgical or Dental Assistant experience is preferred, but not required.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Experience using computers for a variety of tasks.

• Detail oriented, punctual, and patient-care focused.

• Consistent professional appearance and attitude.

• Motivated to grow and learn.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
