Job Summary
We shave an opportunity for a highly ethical, detail-oriented, hard working, experienced and knowledgeable Medical Biller/Coder to join our surgical practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate submission of claims, posting of charges and payments, prompt appeals, and managing the A/R.
Responsibilities
Prepare and submit accurate claims to insurance companies and patients using EMR.
Review patient records for completeness and accuracy, ensuring all necessary documentation is included.
Utilize ICD-10, CPT, GSD and modifiers to ensure proper coding of diagnoses and procedures.
Communicate with insurance companies regarding claim status, denials, and appeals.
Apply up-to-date knowledge of medical terminology and billing regulations.
Process payments and manage accounts receivable, including follow-up on outstanding balances.
Back up other office positions and other areas as requested.
Skills
Proficient in surgical physician coding .
Strong understanding of medical terminology and its application in billing processes.
Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills and strong, mature work ethic.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Effective communication skills for interacting with patients, providers, and insurance representatives.
Excellent grammar and composition skills.
Proficient typing (35 wpm minimum) and 10-key calculator skils

Experience
Proven experience in medical billing and coding within a surgical office setting.
Strong knowledge of CPT coding,ICD-10 coding systems, GSD, and medical terminology.
Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems used for documentation and billing purposes.
Experience in handling medical records and insurance claim submissions.
Knowledge of healthcare regulations related to medical billing, coding standards, and compliance requirements.
Excellent attention to detail
Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
