Who we’re looking for:
As Sustainability Advisor, you are passionate about the construction industry and committed to integrating sustainability. As a natural relationship builder, you will liaise and influence the construction team of the Tonkin Extension Alliance. You will apply innovation, lifecycle thinking and effective planning to drive sustainability performance. You will use your excellent communication skills and strong technical expertise to:
Work with the Sustainability Lead to deliver the IS Design and As-built rating in alignment with v2.1 requirements.
Assist to identify and implement initiative that identify the Project as a leader in Sustainable practices.
Help to create and support a climate that encourages innovation and awareness of sustainability initiatives.
Assist in the implementation of identified sustainability initiatives as applicable.
Support the project workforce in being diverse, engaged, motivated and competent in Sustainability.
Implement the project's sustainability management system, including the Sustainability Management Plan, and monitor and report on performance.
Ensure compliance with projects contractual Sustainability ISC requirements
Your day would look like:
Prepare sustainability related documentation and templates, as required for the IS rating and to assist the wider Project Team.
Preparation of ISC credit summary forms for the acquisition of an ISC Rating.
Provide timely reports on sustainability progress to the Sustainability Lead.
Provide advice regarding sustainability and the ISCA IS Rating tool.
Facilitate sustainability training, such as toolbox sessions, to the delivery team as required.
Engage with internal and external stakeholders across projects to facilitate enhanced sustainability outcomes.
Develop and deliver key sustainability workshops, communication forums and initiatives as part of the design phase of an ISC rating.
Implement the project’s sustainability management system including the SMP and monitor and report on performance.
The successful candidate will be a self-starter with:
Degree or equivalent tertiary qualification in Sustainability / Environmental Science / Engineering
1-2+ years in civil construction (or related sector) in sustainability related role
Experience with Infrastructure Sustainability Council Ratings (v2.1 desired)
Infrastructure Sustainability Accredited Professional (ISAP) desired
Prior experience on major infrastructure projects highly regarded
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
