Role Purpose
The selected candidate will be responsible for providing independent risk oversight of capital and liquidity risk management for HSBC entities in India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Mauritius and Maldives.
This role requires deep understanding of best practice and regulatory expectations of a second line of defence risk function. The Treasury Risk function provides oversight over all treasury first line activities, including the risk appetite framework, stress testing and controls relating to compliance with Group Policy and local regulatory Requirements

Execute a comprehensive and granular programme of capital and liquidity second line of defence.
Support the build out of an effective capital and liquidity risk management second line function.

Development of efficient and streamlined capital & liquidity processes
Requirements
A Graduate or post-graduate degree in relevant numerate subject
Experience
Practical experience of managing Capital and Liquidity Risk, either in a first or second line role, within the HSBC group, either at branch level (or equivalent) or as part of larger Treasury desk, or its equivalent at a competition bank.
Practical experience of capital and/or liquidity stress testing
Good working knowledge of Global and Regional Liquidity and Capital Regulations
Working across all levels of an organisation to understand cross-functional linkages and interdependencies, as well as the implications of risk at both a strategic level and at the business unit level.
Good knowledge of banking products, funding markets and products and collateral management.
Good knowledge of cross market funding, and asset transformation.
Good understanding of other areas e.g. Finance, Accounting, Operational, Legal, etc.
Detailed understanding of HSBC overall business dynamics.
Network across HSBC Group & the Banking industry
Skills
Mathematically numerate.
Ability to achieve desired outcome through the use of constructive debate.
Ability to find simple and pragmatic solutions to complex problems, balancing the desire to build models with strong theoretical foundations with the need to develop models that can be explained and tested easily.
Good communicator.
