About the Role:
We’re looking for a compassionate and proactive Student Welfare Officer to join our Student Welfare Society (SWS). In this role, you’ll support students’ overall well-being—academically, emotionally, and socially—through direct support, community engagement, and resource coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide counseling, guidance, and referrals for students facing academic, personal, or emotional challenges
• Organize wellness events, workshops, and community-building activities
• Respond to student crises (mental health, financial, discrimination, etc.) and provide immediate support
• Advocate for inclusive, student-centered policies and practices
• Maintain and update a database of internal and external student resources
• Conduct educational sessions on mental health, stress management, diversity, etc.
• Collaborate with student groups, faculty, and community partners
• Keep accurate records and prepare reports on student welfare trends
• Stay updated with best practices through continuous learning
What We’re Looking For:
• Bachelor’s in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, Education, or related field (Master’s preferred)
• Prior experience of 5-6 years in student support, counseling, or advising
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Understanding of student development, crisis response, and ethical practices
• Commitment to confidentiality, empathy, and inclusivity
