Job Description
Designing SOC Infrastructure:
• Architecting the overall infrastructure of the SOC, including hardware, software, networks, and integration with other IT systems.
• Ensuring the infrastructure meets security and operational requirements.
Selecting and Implementing Security Tools:
• Evaluating, selecting, and implementing security tools such as SIEM (Security Information and Event Management), IDS/IPS (Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems), endpoint protection, etc.
• Integrating these tools into the SOC architecture to provide comprehensive security monitoring and response capabilities.
Developing SOC Processes and Procedures:
• Designing processes and procedures for incident detection, response, and resolution.
• Establishing workflows for handling security events, alerts, and incidents.
Monitoring and Analysis:
• Overseeing the monitoring of security events and alerts from various sources.
• Analyzing security logs and data to identify potential security incidents or threats.
Incident Response and Management:
• Developing incident response plans and playbooks.
• Leading or participating in incident response activities, coordinating with IT teams and stakeholders.
Risk Assessment and Mitigation:
• Conducting risk assessments to identify security vulnerabilities and threats.
• Developing strategies and solutions to mitigate risks effectively.
Collaboration and Communication:
• Collaborating with IT teams, security analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure effective security operations.
• Communicating security concepts and issues to technical and non-technical audiences.
Skills and Qualifications:
• Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of network security, systems architecture, and IT infrastructure.
• Security Tools: Familiarity with SIEM tools, IDS/IPS, endpoint security solutions, etc.
• Incident Response: Experience in incident response planning and execution.
• Risk Management: Knowledge of risk assessment methodologies and risk mitigation strategies.
• Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to convey complex technical information clearly.
• Problem-Solving: Analytical mindset with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Team Collaboration: Experience working in cross-functional teams and leading projects.
Education and Certifications:
• Education: Typically a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A master’s degree or certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, GIAC) may be preferred.
• Experience: Several years of experience in IT security, network administration, or systems architecture, with specific experience in SOC environments.
