About The Supply And Demand Team
Based within the commercial division of the business, The Systems Team is responsible for all aspects of THG Labs IT Systems, including Inhouse Application Development, IT Support and 3rd Party Application Support & Management.
Systems Developer
As a Systems Developer, reporting directly to the Systems Manager, you'll play a key role in maintaining and evolving our in-house suite of applications, integrations, and reports that touch every corner of our business. This role is perfect for someone eager to make a tangible impact by delivering innovative solutions while growing alongside a dynamic team.
• Collaborate with senior developers and end users to explore system requirements, driving the creation of high impact applications, seamless integrations, and insightful reports.
• Design and develop application prototypes that bring concepts to life and align with user needs.
• Write, review, and debug clean, efficient code to ensure high-performing and reliable applications.
• Support structured, controlled deployments of applications, integrations, and reports to maintain stability and quality.
• Safeguard code integrity with rigorous source control practices, ensuring security and traceability.
• Meet key project timelines and deliverables by working closely with senior developers and the broader team.
• Complete and maintain thorough documentation through Systems Validation Packs, covering:
• Development of new systems
• Enhancements to existing systems
• Minor UI/UX amendments
• Incident resolution and service request management, including escalation when necessary
• Take reasonable care for the health and safety for yourself and other persons who may be affected by your work
• To cooperate with regards to all company health & safety measures, following H&S training when using equipment
• Report to a person in authority any work situation which may represent a serious or imminent danger to health & safety or any shortcomings in the protection arrangements to health & safety. In respect of any hazards remember ‘see it, report it’
• Helping to promote a positive working atmosphere within the company.
• Any other duties that may be required from time to time.
Role Requirements
• Experience with programming languages such as HTML, PHP, JavaScript, and frameworks like CodeIgniter
• Strong knowledge of SQL for database management, with experience in performance tuning and stored procedures.
• Understanding of APIs and web services for application integrations.
• Experience with source control tools, such as Git.
• Understanding of modern UI/UX design principles.
• Knowledge of Web Servers such as Apache and Nginx
• Experience with project management methodologies
• Familiarity with data visualization tools like Power Query or Tableau.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and secure coding principles.
• Strong debugging skills using tools like browser developer tools or application logs.
• Ability to interpret complex system requirements and design scalable, efficient solutions.
• Experience collaborating in cross-functional teams, including non-technical colleagues.
• Strong ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a dynamic work environment.
• Proven track record of delivering projects on time and meeting deadlines.
