Systems Development Engineer| VMWare Engine| Google Cloud

Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
8 years of experience with systems administration, systems development engineering, or similar industries.
8 years of experience in Network Administration, Network Troubleshooting, MPLS VPN, VMware, Storage, and Virtual Machines.

Preferred qualifications:
Certification in expert level VMware or similar (e.g., VCP-NV/VCIX-NV/VCDX-NV).
Knowledge of one or more of the following Cloud networking technologies/protocols: IS-IS, VXLAN, BGP, EVPN, or Network Virtualization.
Knowledge of VPN technologies (e.g., Palo Alto, VyOS, pfSense, Cisco ASR).
Knowledge of one of the following: Python or Go.
Knowledge of Linux networking functionalities.

The Google VMware Engine service enables customers running on-premises VMware workloads to seamlessly migrate to Google Cloud without having to re-architect or refactor their applications.

As a Systems Development Engineer, you will assist in launching and supporting the Google VMware Engine service and infrastructure, across 13 regions and thousands of nodes, leveraging both Google native and Google Extension Data Centers.

Responsibilities
Monitor and manage near cloud networking capacity in partnership with Google cloud networking teams.
Troubleshoot and resolve end-to-end customer networking issues across the near cloud interconnects, customer networks and our data
center deployments.
Design and implement processes for the efficient operation of networks and VMWare stack.
Scale systems sustainably through Google tools and automation, and evolve systems by driving change that improves reliability and velocity.
Participate in rotating on call schedule for customer escalation support for Google Cloud Customers.
