Job Description
• The Vulcan Stow Controls team is looking for Controls Engineers to support the development of Controls System for complex robotics workcells to be deployed, at scale, to client Fulfillment Centers.
The Successful Engineer In This Role Will
• Understand how complex robotics workcells operate, including an understanding of servo drives, industrial networks, safety systems, and integration with host systems.
• Have experience developing and deploying robotics workcells, including commissioning best practices, and troubleshooting methodologies for complex integrated systems.
• Own the development of systems and features to improve system throughput, availability, quality, and improve deployment speed and efficacy.
• Own documentation of system for immediate team as well as partner commissioning and support teams.
• Have experience developing and evaluating metrics to judge performance of machines and systems.
• Have experience with software development for controls systems.
Core Requirements
• In depth knowledge of & experience developing controls systems including developing PLC and HMI applications and integrating components like drives, barcode readers, and remote sensors.
• Strong system troubleshooting skills.
• Proficiency in multiple IEC 61131-3 languages.
• Experience in at least one higher level language and current software development best practices.
• Understanding of basic network troubleshooting including industrial networks like Ethercat, Ethernet/IP, Profibus/Profinet, etc.
Highly Desirable Attributes
• Knowledge of C, C++, or Java.
• Experience in multi-axis coordinated motion applications.
• Understanding of AWS technologies (aws.client.com).
• Experience deploying or managing machines in large-scale, geographically diverse environments.
