Your Career
As a Systems Engineer, you’ll enable sales engagements into a set of large new enterprise accounts. You will play a key role in navigating complex accounts in order to generate and deliver winning proposals, contract bids, statements of work, and RFI/RFP responses. It is business critical to meet and exceed sales quotas by building and implementing strategic account plans targeting enterprise-wide deployments of the Palo Alto Networks Next-Generation Security Platform. Establish yourself as a trusted advisor to prospects and customers working with your Account Manager and the local partners within your territory. Passionate in driving and leading technical solutions that can bring over and beyond results.Ability to go beyond the status quo and often think out of the box to address cornered cases.Ability to articulate the value proposition of the solutions in front of the customer to address their requirements and challenges.Strong verbal and written communication skills, due to collaboration among other product and services team to solve complex business problems for the customer.Use your experience and leadership skills to motivate your teammates to deliver high quality results in a fast-paced work environment.Passionate about talking and working with customers and maintaining customer satisfaction.
We expect office-based employees to be in the office four days per week, with one day working from where they choose. We believe being together facilitates casual conversations and those magic moments where we can work on issues and ideas informally. These moments build capability and deepen trusted relationships and allow our people to feel safe in taking risks and being disruptive. Like so many companies, we are working through the details and things could change …. but in general if a role is deemed office-based we want our teams to be together four days per week.
Your Impact
• Identify current and future customer requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual customers and others in a position to understand the requirements
• Design, architect and propose validated solutions which address the identified cybersecurity problems in each unique environment
• Continuous self-improvement and learning to maintain technical leadership across cloud, network and security solutions
• Able to identify and present value against the competition
• Act as the customer advocate for any issues that require technical assistance and follow up with the customer until the issue is resolved
• Ability to do proof-of-value to customers in a timely manner and help expound our advantages and benefits to the customer
• Lead and own the technical requirements and pull the required teams as necessary to address customer complex requirements
• Understand and effectively present our security platform to technical and CX Level audiences
Qualifications
• 5+ years of experience as a successful pre-sales SE, systems integrator, or equivalent experience
• BS in Computer Science/Engineering , in a related field or equivalent military experience required
• Knowledge on security solutions such as FW, IDS/IPS and others Working knowledge in virtualization environments such Cisco ACI, VMWare, Openstack, is a plus
• Working knowledge in public cloud environments such as AWS, Azure and GCP.
• Understanding of traditional SDLC, Agile methodology, DevOps and the role of security in modern application development process
• Experience with systems installation, configuration and administration of routers/switches, UNIX/Linux, and Windows-based systems
• Strong analytical skills to evaluate complex multivariate problems and find a systematic approach to gain a quick resolution, often under duress
• including but not limited to - Firewalls, VPNs, Security Proxies and Caches
• Knowledge of modern network threats and malware, network forensics, automation tools and technologies, and endpoint security technologies
• Demonstrated understanding of networking and core Internet protocols (e.g. TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, HTTP, and distributed networks)
• Experience with infrastructure configuration and automations processes and tools - Terraform, Puppet, Ansible, Chef, Fabric is a plus
• Experience with security in the cloud - Intrusion, penetration, and vulnerability scanning is a plus
• Knowledge of APIs and RESTful services is a plus
• Significant industry certifications (SANS, CISSP, CCIE,etc.) is a plus
• Cloud Certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP) are a plus
• Developer focused certifications are a plus
• Effective time-management skills
