1.0 FTE Grades 7 Math, Social Studies, Careers, Physical and Health Education Teacher
Lake Trail Community School strives to apply middle school pedagogy based on research and best practices to meet the diverse learning needs of all students in an inclusive environment. We use a school-wide PBIS model and trauma-informed strategies to create a safe and caring school. All teachers are expected to collaborate as a team to offer engaging programs and opportunities such as electives or exploratories for students in areas other than the core subjects. Our teachers are committed to assessment for learning through school-wide assessment in literacy and numeracy. We work closely with our Community School Society to connect learning to the community and outside world and provide opportunities for students to belong.
Our educational team is committed to engaging learners to develop creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, communication and social competencies. Our educators use and develop best practices through meaningful and purposeful collaboration and inquiry. As lifelong learners themselves, our educators embrace diversity, apply assessment for learning approaches, and integrate technology in meaningful ways to personalize learning.
