Job Description
We’re hiring a Los Angeles–based designer to join our growing U.S. team and lead production for our mail-in upcycling service. This role will likely kick off mid 2026, but we would like to start meeting candidates and building relationships early.
This role will begin 1–2 days per week in our studio, with the expectation to ramp up quickly as we scale. You’ll work hands-on with pre-loved garments, following our set designs while incorporating each customer’s preferences and sizing. It’s critical to be comfortable moving fast, while maintaining our high standards of finish and fit.
This is not a typical tailoring position, it’s a chance to apply your technical sewing expertise and creativity through upcycling.
What You’ll Do
Execute customer orders for our main-in upcycling service from our Los Angeles workspace.
Follow our in house design standards and reference guides to transform garments into our core silhouettes.
Use customer measurements and preferences to make each piece personal and flattering.
Maintain consistency and efficiency - most transformations take 1.5–2 hours to complete.
Collaborate with our UK-based design and operations teams for onboarding and design creation.
Participate in-person events and activities on an ad-hoc basis.
Required Skills & Experience
Professional sewing experience, with the ability to produce high-quality garments quickly.
Proficient in using a domestic sewing machine and serger/overlocker.
Strong understanding of garment construction and fit.
Experience working with a variety of garment types and fabric materials.
Ability to interpret design direction and customer feedback.
Confident working independently and managing time effectively.
Comfortable using measurement tools and following provided guides.
Experience with upcycling or garment alteration is a strong plus.
Ability to problem solve and stay optimistic in challenging situations.
The ideal candidate will:
Be a creative, design-led individual with technical sewing expertise.
Be motivated to find unique and efficient ways to deconstruct and reconstruct garments.
Be open and flexible to adjustments to designs based on feedback from the customer.
Be comfortable moving quickly while still providing a quality product.
Be interested in creating modern, sexy, and feminine garments for a wide range of individuals.
Be excited to be building something new with a small team of fantastic women! This is a true early stage start up where things change and no month is the same, but we always keep it fun and positive.
