Full job description
Machinify is the leading provider of AI-powered software products that transform healthcare claims and payment operations. Each year, the healthcare industry generates over $200B in claims mispayments, creating incredible waste, friction and frustration for all participants: patients, providers, and especially payers. Machinify’s revolutionary AI-platform has enabled the company to develop and deploy, at light speed, industry-specific products that increase the speed and accuracy of claims processing by orders of magnitude.
We are seeking a Principal Data Scientist. This role will be responsible for technical leadership as well as hands-on contribution to the data science team at Machinify. Our platforms already leverage cutting-edge NLP and traditional ML to help clinicians make complex decisions, but the real challenge lies ahead; moving from "AI Assistant" to human-caliber interpretation of both claim data and medical records.
What you will do:
Provide high level technical direction & guidance to a team of Senior and Staff Data Scientists, enabling them to do their best work
Execute hands-on as a senior member of the team supporting our "Pay" product
Develop code to execute payment policies as automated software. Contribute to improving the software architecture.
Measure the effect of policy changes on healthcare payments. Use data to identify areas for policy improvement. Report
Collaborate with the leadership team to define key technical and business metrics and objectives
What you bring:
Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
Deep, highly technical data science experience
Several years in a leadership role
Startup experience is a big plus
Proven track record of managing data teams and delivering complex, high-impact products from concept to deployment
Intimate knowledge of data privacy regulations and best practices in data security
Exceptional team management abilities, with experience in building and leading high-performing teams
Ability to think strategically and execute methodically
Ability to drive change and inspire a distributed team
Strong problem-solving skills and a data-driven mindset
What we offer:
A flexible and trusting environment where you'll feel empowered to do your best work.
Work from anywhere in the US! Our team is distributed and most of us work from home.
Hardworking and supportive colleagues, and a leadership team that understands the importance of recruiting and retaining top talent.
Incredible medical, vision, and dental benefits for employees & their families.
Competitive salary and equity, 401(k) sponsorship.
