About The Opportunity
A role in the logistics and industrial operations sector supporting 24/7 on-site heavy-vehicle and yard operations for clients across India. The position sits within a fast-paced ground-operations environment that prioritises safety, punctuality, and accurate shift-delivery for time-sensitive supply-chain activities.
Primary Title: Shift Operator (24/7 Tandem Base)
Role & Responsibilities
• Operate and manage tandem-axle vehicles and yard equipment safely during assigned on-site shifts (24-hour roster).
• Perform pre- and post-shift vehicle and equipment inspections; document findings and escalate defects promptly.
• Load, secure, and unload cargo in compliance with SOPs and safe-load/weight distribution practices.
• Execute routine preventive maintenance tasks and coordinate repairs with workshop teams to minimise downtime.
• Maintain accurate shift logs, handover notes, and electronic records for vehicle movements and incidents.
• Enforce site safety procedures, participate in toolbox talks, and support incident investigations when required.
Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have
• Valid heavy vehicle driving license (category appropriate for tandem axle operation)
• Proven experience operating tandem-axle or heavy commercial vehicles in industrial/yard settings
• Experience with forklift or yard-equipment operation
• Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance and basic mechanical troubleshooting
• Familiarity with safety and compliance protocols for industrial sites
• Ability to work rotating 24/7 shifts and maintain clear handover documentation
Preferred
• Certification in heavy vehicle safety training or equivalent
• Experience with electronic logbook systems or fleet management software
• Previous work in large-scale logistics hubs, ports, or manufacturing yards
