Tax Analyst- Canadian Tax

3-6 Months contract and will be moved to permanent at the end of the contract
Job Overview:
Reporting to the Tax Manager, the Tax Analyst will support Company’s Canadian income filings and compliance, relating to the acquisition strategy.
Responsibilities and Duties:
• Support the completion of outstanding Canadian tax filings for the majority of multiple legal entities
• Collaborate closely with internal management and external consultants, to support the organization and preparation of tax rollover and amalgamation related filings for practice acquisitions
• Prepare year-end tax workpapers and ensure corporate income, indirect and other tax filings and remittances are both successfully planned and paid on a timely basis
• Work closely with the internal accounting department to ensure processes and procedures and accounting for income, indirect and other taxes are consistent with the company’s intercompany business arrangements
• Support and participate in the project to complete final year tax returns, and work with the Legal department to close out business accounts for acquired entities
• Primary review and response to incoming tax related inquiries including emails
Planning Activities
• Other ad hoc tax-related projects as assigned by CFO & Tax Manager
Education, Credentials, Qualifications
• Certified Professional Accountant (CPA)
• Completion of CICA In-Depth tax courses and knowledge of indirect taxes will be an asset
Required Skills & Abilities:
• 2+ years of experience in corporate income tax, ideally gained within the tax department of a multinational corporation and/or professional services firm
• Advanced level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel required
• Ability to adapt to fast paced, changing, and growing business environment
• Highly developed interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
• Proactive, with flexibility to meet deadlines and deliverables.
