Job description
Our private wealth offering is highly regarded, with lawyers from all of our office locations ranked in the Chambers HNW guide (2024).
In this role, you'll apply your expertise in tax and trusts advisory work, focusing on private wealth and succession planning while managing our existing trust portfolio. There’s ample opportunity for you to introduce innovative ideas on how we might better organise these processes. You’ll find the role varied and engaging, working with a diverse client base, including private individuals, families, and entrepreneurs. As part of a Legal 500-rated private client team, the work is diverse, interesting, and often high in value.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include collaborating with colleagues to provide succession and tax planning advice, attending trustee meetings, preparing minutes, and overseeing trust accounts and tax returns. You’ll also be calculating trustees' tax liabilities in relation to income, capital gains, and inheritance tax, preparing and reviewing policy statements, and managing trust payments and distributions, both capital and discretionary. Additionally, you’ll be responsible for reviewing and interpreting trust deeds and other legal documents.
This is a highly interactive role that requires close collaboration within the wider private client department. You’ll thrive in a sociable, team-driven environment, enjoying the collaborative efforts across multiple offices to ensure a seamless service for our clients.
