About the Job:
- Position: Full-Time Tax Preparer
- Primary Duties: Preparation of individual and small business tax returns.
- Secondary Duties: Bookkeeping support and regular duties in the off-season.
- Location: Mostly in-office at our peaceful Battle Ground, WA location, with occasional work-from-home days.
- Pay: Entry-Level to Early-Career $23-$27 per hour. Senior Level Experience $27-31 per hour.
The ideal background and experience:
- 4-year accounting degree.
- 2-3 years experience preparing tax returns.
- Enjoy working one-to-one with clients.
- Working knowledge of tax laws in Washington and Oregon.
- If you have an EA or CPA, that’s a plus, but it's not required.
Benefits:
- Health Insurance: 100% coverage for employees after +0 days, with the option to add family members at cost.
- 401(k): Up to 4% match after 180 days.
- Vacation: 2 weeks per year; 3 weeks upon 5 years of employment.
- Sick Pay: Accrual per WA state requirements (1 hour per 40 worked).
- Holidays: 7 paid holidays (New Year's Day, April 16th, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas).
Tools and Software:
- Programs Used: Lacerte Tax, Liscio client portal, Xero, QuickBooks Online & Desktop.
Typical Hours:
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, standard business hours; except for tax season, January through April 15th, expect to work overtime.
- While most work is done in-office and face-to-face with clients, there are opportunities to work from home during tax season when working with virtual clients.
