Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate therapist/shadow teacher to join our team and provide comprehensive support to a child at school and during after-school 1:1 sessions. This position requires expertise in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles and practices. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional communication skills, the ability to work collaboratively with other professionals, and a passion for promoting the development and well-being of children.
Responsibilities:
School Support:
Assist the child in their daily activities at school, including classroom participation, social interactions, and academic tasks.
Implement individualized ABA strategies to support the child's behavioral, communication, and educational goals.
Collaborate with school staff, teachers, and other professionals to ensure the child's needs are met in the educational setting.
Facilitate the child's integration and participation in group activities and promote social skills development.
After-School 1:1 Sessions:
Provide intensive 1:1 sessions at the child's home, focusing on targeted skill development and behavior management.
Design and implement individualized ABA programs based on the child's specific needs and goals.
Utilize ABA techniques, including data collection, behavior analysis, and reinforcement strategies, to effectively support the child's progress.
Collaborate with the child's family to ensure consistency and carryover of skills from school to home settings.
Progress Monitoring and Reporting:
Regularly assess and track the child's progress towards their individual goals using appropriate data collection methods.
Prepare detailed progress reports and maintain accurate records of interventions, observations, and outcomes.
Collaborate with the child's parents, caregivers, and other professionals to review and discuss the child's progress and make necessary adjustments to the intervention plan.
Professional Development and Collaboration:
Stay up-to-date with the latest research, best practices, and developments in the field of ABA.
Attend relevant workshops, conferences, and training sessions to enhance knowledge and skills.
Collaborate with other therapists, educators, and professionals to share expertise, exchange ideas, and promote a multidisciplinary approach to intervention.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Psychology, Education, or a related field.
Certification or coursework in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is required.
Previous experience working as a therapist, shadow teacher, or in a similar role.
Strong knowledge of ABA principles, strategies, and techniques.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with school staff, parents, and other professionals.
Patience, empathy, and the ability to establish a positive and supportive rapport with the child.
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Familiarity with data collection and progress monitoring tools.
Flexibility to work during school hours and after-school sessions as required
