About the School

Queensland Pathways State College is a senior secondary school supporting young people aged 15 to 18 years (minimum Year 10), who have found it challenging to thrive in mainstream schooling. Many of our students have experienced complex life circumstances, such as trauma, mental health challenges, or housing instability, that have interrupted their learning journey.

Our goal is to guide every student toward achieving a Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE) and transitioning successfully into further education, training, or employment. We work in close partnership with families, community organisations, and support services to provide wraparound care and personalised pathways.

About the Role

An opportunity exists for a Teacher Aide, locally known as an Education Support Officer, to contribute to the provision of a quality educational service by assisting and supporting teachers with preparation and enhancement of learning materials at our Bracken Ridge campus (157 Norris Rd, Bracken Ridge - Bracken Ridge TAFE).

Key Responsibilities Include:

Assisting in the supervision of education activities, under the direction of a teacher.
Working with small groups as well as individual students.
Communicating effectively and displaying high level of interpersonal skills to function as an effective team member.
Displaying respect and empathy for students with high level needs.
Displaying confidentiality, tact, reliability and sensitivity to students and their families.

You may also be called upon to:

Assist with the administrational tasks and stocktaking of equipment and resources.
Undertake clerical assistance duties including typing teachers' notes and programs, photocopying teaching materials, collation and duplication of exam papers, recording of examination results, compiling students' results records, assisting in organising off-site activities and assist in financial documentations.
Assist in preparing, storing, distributing and clearing away teaching equipment and materials.
Contribute to the welfare, health and safety of students, including the delivery of first aid.
Becoming a key link at disseminating information to parents/carers of the campus.

A passion for working independently and collaboratively with a small but passionate team of teachers.
Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Canva (or similar).
Strong verbal and written communication, displaying a high level of interpersonal skills to function as an effective team member.
Attention to detail and ability to manage classroom operations effectively.
Highly organised.
Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
Empathy and respect for students with diverse needs and abilities.
