The Y WA (formally YMCA) is a branch of the global Y not-for-profit organisation, formed in 1844 and have been contributing to our local Australian communities since 1851. We believe in the power of inspired young people, focused on flourishing outcomes through the delivery of education, childcare, youth services, and community programs to thousands of Australians every day. None of this would be possible without our special Y People and Leaders!
We are seeking to establish a pool of Teacher’s interested in working at our campuses in Mirrabooka, Armadale and Perth CBD for permanent full-time and part-time vacancies, which may arise during the 2026 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

As a CaRE (Curriculum & Re-Engagement) School, we’re focussed on working with students at their point of need. Through on-entry assessments, consultation and collaborative approaches, we formulate strong Individual Education Plans, providing classroom support to work towards future goals via a combination of programs.
Our main focus is to assist students to re-engage with education in a way that makes sense to them, dismantling the barriers and creating a chance for them to flourish.
Our Yr10 - 12 campus (offering WACE options, school-based traineeship support, vocational pathways and a university bridging course) opened in Mirrabooka in February 2022.
Additional Yr10 to 12 campuses will be opening over the next 12 mths, based in Armadale and Perth City Centre (CBD). These will be an exciting new addition to our school, allowing us to partner with academic, health and cultural organizations in the local areas! We’ll be looking for innovative teachers who thrive in providing support to young people for their future pathways to flourishing!
Due to considerable demand, we’re also opening our Yr7 - * campus very soon.. Everything will be new! Works are nearly complete with a brand-new fit out including an open plan collaborative learning area, purpose-built classrooms, breakout rooms, a kitchen and counselling rooms. We’re planning to begin with two learning hubs. Each hub will be capped at 30 students, having a Teacher, four Education Assistants and one Youth Worker per hub. We’ll be adding more hubs towards the end of the year.
The Y School 7-9 pathway is developed and delivered in partnership with Mastery Schools Australia, focussing on the Science of Learning.
The curriculum at our Yr7 – * Campuses will be delivered through a combination of Direct Instruction and STEAM lessons, providing students the opportunity to develop their knowledge in Literacy and Numeracy, as well as explore their passions across a range of subjects within the WA Curriculum.

Your Impact:
As a CARE (Curriculum & Re-Engagement) School, we are focussed on working with students at their point of need, dedicating time, energy, and expertise to formulating strong Individual Education Plans. We develop rapport with students in order to assist them in building towards further education or employment, through options such as WACE pathways, School-Based Traineeships and university bridging courses. Our main focus is to assist students to re-engage with education, supporting them to dismantle the barriers and create a chance to flourish.
You’ll collaborate in a multi-systemic team, working with Youth Workers, Education Assistants, School Counsellors and external agency supports to address mental health and social & emotional issues. As the Teacher in this team, you’ll will be responsible for the development and delivery of academic and experiential programs, maintaining student records, developing Individual Education Plans, and building rapport with students and relevant stakeholders.

Have a Current Teacher Registration with the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia (TRBWA)
Hold a Tertiary qualification in Education or Teaching that is recognised in Western Australia
Seek to maintain a status of Highly Accomplished or Lead in the AITSL standards and fully understand their application in daily practice
Are known for your highly developed interpersonal skills & written communication skills
Have knowledge of ******** Teaching techniques
Can obtain a current National Police Check, Working With Children Check
