2026 initially) to teach in the Climb pathway. The post should be 4 days (but we may be flexible between 3 and 5 days for the right candidate). We are able to offer this post as a flexible opportunity, depending on your interests, experience and skills. The successful candidate will either work in our class where students have a primary need of significant social, emotional and mental health needs and learning difficulties or across several classes in the department where SEMH is less significant.
This maternity cover role offers an exciting opportunity to teach within our Climb Pathway, supporting learners with moderate to severe learning difficulties and, for some, significant SEMH needs. The role is flexible and may be class-based or across the department, shaped by your experience, skills and interests, within a highly supportive and collaborative team.
Teaching in Climb is rooted in a semi-formal, personalised curriculum that values small-step progress, independence and emotional wellbeing alongside academic learning. Lessons are adapted creatively using multi-sensory, visual and practical approaches, including the use of Makaton, assistive technology, structured routines and clear visual supports. High staff-to-learner ratios allow teaching to be responsive, relational and truly individualised.
