Job Description
The Addiction Recovery Consultant course plays a vital role in supporting individuals on their journey to recovery from substance use disorders. This position involves providing guidance, resources, and support to clients while fostering a compassionate and understanding environment.
Modules
Understanding substance use and addiction
Stages of addiction and recovery
Harm reduction vs. abstinence
Family and community support roles
Communication and basic counseling techniques.
Facilitate group therapy sessions and support meetings to encourage peer interaction and shared experiences.
Provide ongoing support and motivation to students.
Maintain accurate records of student progress.
Skills
Strong administrative skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Proven leadership abilities to inspire and guide clients through their recovery journey.
Proficiency in Excel and other computer operations for record keeping and data analysis.
Excellent analytical skills to assess client needs effectively and develop appropriate strategies.
Exceptional time management skills to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Strong organizational skills for maintaining accurate records and documentation.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, for interacting with clients, families, and team members.
Experience working with children or youth in a supportive capacity is a plus, enhancing the ability to connect with younger clients facing addiction issues.
