As a Teacher of Chemistry at Kinross High School, you will have the opportunity to join an experienced, innovative and supportive team of practitioners. Our department offers a range of qualifications ranging from N3 to Advanced Higher Chemistry, Laboratory Science and the Science Baccalaureate.

Interviews for this position will be held on Friday 4th October 2026. The interview process will form two parts:
2. 50 minute observed lesson 3. 30 minute panel interview
You will also be offered a tour of the school.
Your lesson should be prepared for a mixed ability S3 class and should be a standalone lesson on how to form insoluble salts from precipitation covering the National 4 and National 5 requirements for this topic. Young people will have limited prior knowledge having covered an introductory topic, rate topic and the atom topic earlier in S3. Your lesson should be designed to capture the young peoples’ interest and to inspire them in the chemical sciences as well as informing them about insoluble salts.

A promethean smart board will be available in the classroom and you can bring your own device. Alternatively, you can email any work you would like to present before interview and this will be loaded onto a device for you.
