Program Description
This is a voluntary summer position.
Summer Teacher:
Teachers working a 10-month assignment do not have to submit work calendars.
If you are currently a teacher working an 11/12-month assignment, you must submit a work calendar.

In order to be eligible to receive additional pay for working in our summer learning programs, your work calendar must show non-scheduled days (off-duty days) for the dates of the summer program you are applying to. Your work calendar can be found in your informedK12 account.
If needed, click on this link to fill out and submit your work calendar in informedK12. Your current supervisor must sign off on the work calendar in the informedK12 platform in order to confirm your eligibility to work this summer.

Because the summer session crosses the fiscal year, summer employees must reflect their summer work days in July as “non-scheduled days” on their 2026-27 work calendar. The summer office will support this process once the 26-27 Work Calendars go live.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Create a positive, achievement-oriented, and structured learning environment that motivates and supports students
Execute daily instruction responsibilities, including lesson plans and connecting students with resources.
Provide feedback to students and families regularly share their progress toward their goals
Design and implement subject-relevant curriculum
Follow and use grade and subject matter appropriate curriculum
Exhibit and utilize effective classroom management techniques
Use culturally relevant pedagogy
Design and implement differentiated instruction and assessments for various skill levels and learning types
Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Valid California Credential authorizing service in applied position
Training and experience in the specific programs are required
Must be proficient in standards-based instruction and assessment Demonstrate ability to motivate at-risk youth
Please note that selected candidates will be assigned based on program needs. Selected candidates are expected to commit to the program for the duration of the assignment. Offer and continuation of employment is dependent upon level of student enrollment and attendance. Notice of employment will be sent to the selected candidates. Qualified personnel from within the district will be considered for placement. Per OEA contract Article 23.3.3.3, unit members will not be selected for more than two consecutive years. Should no qualified applicants apply, unit members may serve for more than two consecutive years.
