As a Team Leader of the Liability Specialist Team, you’ll be at the heart of a supportive and high-performing team, guiding and mentoring others on liability and eligibility assessments and determinations. You’ll lead with empathy and purpose, helping your team navigate complex claims with confidence, compassion, and compliance.

This is a full time, permanent role based in our Melbourne office, with flexibility to work from home up to 2 days per week.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

Work collaboratively with the Group Manager to develop and implement a pro-active, specialised approach to eligibility claims management, assessment and determination

Pro-actively supervise, develop and support team members ensuring team and organisational objectives are met

Provide technical guidance on liability decisions in relation to workers compensation insurance claims to both internal and external stakeholders.

Supervise the day-to-day work activity, training and development of a team of Liability Specialist and Technical Specialists and work collaboratively with Senior Legal Specialist and Clinical Advisors.

ABOUT YOU

Experience in a Team Leader role or equivalent within the Victorian Workers Compensation scheme preferred but not essential

Demonstrated expertise of Liability claims management in conjunction with excellent time management, negotiation, and influencing abilities.

Leadership skills, including team building, coaching, mentoring, performance management and change management

Well-developed problem-solving and strategic thinking skills.

Strong understanding of the contractual requirements and performance measures for Victorian Worksafe Agents

Experience managing and developing teams within a personal injury environment
