As Team Leader – Transport Support, you will:
Lead, coach and inspire a specialist team to deliver outstanding public transport outcomes.
Oversee work planning, resource allocation, and service delivery to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
Drive continuous improvement through smarter systems, automation, and innovative processes.
Lead customer-focused initiatives, from accurate timetable delivery to enhancing online user experiences.
Manage and contribute to projects, contracts, and engagement activities that improve customer satisfaction and operational performance.
Build strong partnerships across council teams, contractors, government agencies, and community stakeholders.
This is a role where no two days are the same. You’ll combine leadership with hands-on delivery, ensuring operational excellence while enabling your team to grow and succeed.
Ō pūmanawa | Your skills and experience
To thrive in this role, you’ll need:
A relevant qualification (Level 6 or higher) in management, transport, business, or related field.
At least 5 years’ experience in a relevant role, with proven people leadership capability.
Strong project management and process improvement skills, including the ability to implement new systems and tools.
Advanced communication and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to engage across a wide range of stakeholders.
Commercial awareness and analytical ability to support strategic planning and decision-making.
An understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles and a commitment to inclusive leadership.
