Based at Takapuna Pool and Leisure Centre, this is a fantastic job where you can gain a formal qualification teaching people the basic principles of how to swim, maintaining a fun, caring and safe environment for customers and visitors - we'll provide the training you need to succeed in the role. Experience in teaching infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children is strongly preferred.
This is a permanent part-time position and we would love to hear from those who can work 16 hours per week.
16 hours: Monday - Friday (15:15PM - 19:15PM)
You will be required to attend the following training dates. Monday to Friday at West Wave, 8am-4pm:

If you do have a recognised swim teacher qualification or previous experience as a Swimming Instructor, that would be fantastic! However, we will provide full, comprehensive training. You must also be willing to complete First Aid training.
Ngā āhuatanga kei a mātou: What we offer
As a Learn to Swim Instructor, you’ll have free access to our facilities, hours that provide work-life balance, and above all else, you will be part of a fun and supportive team. You will also have the satisfaction of knowing the work you do is important and impactful, especially the pride and joy you will get from watching someone gain the confidence that comes from learning how to swim.
We strongly encourage up-skilling and training. Once you are hired you would have the opportunity to pick up extra hours in a variety of roles such as Lifeguard, Customer Service Rep, Recreation Assistant and more.
We are committed in promoting a workplace that respects the contributions of everyone, regardless of their ****** orientation, gender identity, age, race, ethnicity, religion, disability, or background.
