What we are looking for:
Are you a practical, dependable worker who takes pride in quality civil construction? We’re seeking a skilled Team Member to join our Works & Services team within Infrastructure Operations. This role plays a key part in delivering and maintaining roads, drainage and footpaths that make a real difference in the local community.
We’re looking for someone with proven experience in civil works, particularly concrete construction, pipe installation and drainage maintenance. You’ll be comfortable operating small plant and equipment, committed to safe work practices, and ready to contribute as part of a high-performing crew.
What your day will look like:
Start your day with a toolbox meeting and plan the team’s tasks for road and drainage maintenance
Work hands-on with civil construction activities such as concrete formwork and finishing, asphalt patching, and bitumen repairs
Lay pipes and conduits, maintain kerbs, footpaths, and stormwater drainage systems
Operate and maintain plant and equipment, from spray bars and rollers to small tools, ensuring safety and compliance
Assist with traffic control setup and follow approved Traffic Guidance Schemes to keep worksites safe
Completing daily paperwork and timesheets accurately
Supporting your team to ensure works are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard
Helping maintain tools and equipment and reporting any issues
Providing great service to the community and representing Council professionally.

What you’ll need for success:
Current MR Driver’s Licence and current Class C Driver’s Licence (mandatory)
General Construction Induction (White Card) (mandatory)
Demonstrated experience in road and drainage maintenance including concrete works, earthworks, pavement placement and pipe laying
Ability to work effectively under general supervision
Good oral and written communication skills, including accurate completion of timesheets and forms
Proven ability to work effectively within a team environment.

Traffic Management Implementation Level II
Chainsaw Level 1
Experience operating light and medium civil plant and equipment
Confined space and drainage maintenance experience
Additional plant operation tickets or relevant civil construction certifications.
