Job Description
A Database Administrator is responsible for understanding and maintaining the database implementation for an application. This includes analysis, etc.Experience and Education Requirements Bachelor's degree (preferred emphasis in computer science or MIS) or equivalent combination of education and experience Five or more years RDBMS Database Administration experience in Postgres a plus Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database integrity issues, performance issues, blocking and deadlocking issues, connectivity issues, and security issues Experience with backups, restores, recovery models, and database maintenance tasks Experience in Performance Tuning and Query Optimization Experience in using monitoring and jobs scheduling tools Experience with ETL processes Experience in business requirements analysis and conversion to database designPreferred Requirements: Expert experience in implementing operational automation. Experience designing for transactional and data warehouse as well as with data normalization Experience in creating logical and physical database design Extensive experience with PostgreSQL Experience designing ETL processes Experience with Postgres Clustering Experience with Application Performance Monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, AppDynamicsSkills and Abilities: Strong knowledge of how indexes, index management, integrity checks, configuration, patching. How statistics work, how indexes are stored, how they can be created and managed effectively. Knowledge of Postgres tools (pgBadger, flyway etc.) Excellent/proven troubleshooting and problem resolution skills Ability to detect and troubleshoot Postgres related CPU, Memory, I/O, disk space and other resource contention Teamwork focused attitude and be skilled at building relationships within IT and across business functions of the organization Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment and handle multiple projects and assignments under tight deadlines Pune
