Who We're Looking For
This position is responsible for building, delivering, enhancing and supporting Syniverse Products and Services. The incumbent will possess a good knowledge and skill across engineering functions. Also has strong analytical, business logic and problem resolution skills with limited experience in software design processes and methods.
The SE Technology is responsible for defining and implementing the testing methodology for cross-functional and non cross-functional projects and for participating in, and supporting all required testing activities to ensure all process controls are adhered to and completed in a timely and cost effective manner.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Design
Design of software modules conforming to the functional/ integration/ performance/ user experience requirements.
Develop
Development of software modules conforming to the functional/ performance/ user experience requirements
Development and automation and execution of Unit and Functional Tests to demonstrate the conformance of software with the functional/ performance/ user experience requirements
Modify existing software to correct errors, to adapt it to new hardware, or to upgrade interfaces and improve performance.
Provide inputs to lead engineer for proof of concepts
Peer review of code changes, approach document, unit test cases
Properly diagnose test results and document product defects.
Setup test environment and follow release notes to install product releases and fixes.
Execute test scripts and cases and initiate modifications if necessary.
Provide daily test statuses on testing progress and issues.
Analyze
Analysis and debugging of issues found during the development. Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Analysis and Resolution of build issues, production issues
Actively participate in the requirement analysis, impact analysis and provide inputs to lead engineer.
Coach and train junior, software Engineer QA to assist in fulfillment of job responsibilities.
Ability to work from functional specifications and provide inputs to Lead / Manager to write test plans.
Analyze, develop, and manage test cases using HP Test tools.
Consult with Development and Production Support to identify test data.
Process
Adhere to the defined process
Adhere to Technical and Process Documentation as per project requirements
Furnish individual status reports
Maintain technical expertise by keeping abreast of technologies as they apply to Syniverse products and services.
Execute post release health checks
Knowledge sharing sessions to team members
Timely escalations, follow-ups and responses
Provide cross-product and cross-functional support on need basis.
Define and implement testing guidelines/methodologies appropriate for each project
Possess enough business knowledge to provide meaningful input to requirements that would improve customer experience.
Share risk-assessment to Lead / Managers on projects.
Provide assistance and consulting to Development and Product Support teams on project activities.
Actively participate in product and project team meetings
Possess good Product functional knowledge of the entire System
Possess good knowledge on Various environments(Dev, QA, UAT, Production), setup and configuration
Analyze information to determine, recommend, and plan installation of a new system or modification of an existing system.
Store, retrieve, and manipulate data for analysis of system capabilities and requirements.
Prepare reports or correspondence concerning project specifications, activities, or status.
Associate Lead Software Engr will have following added responsibilities:
Work closely with other functional areas (QA and database functions) to ensure that project schedules are met with a high level of quality
Derive & design software modules from high level architecture
Create development integration test cases
Provide level of effort for tasks
Build proof of concepts
Technical presentations to team members
Create project/release documents; Review project/release documents created by team members.
Job Requirements:
Sr Software Engineer II
4-5 years of relevant professional experience in the Software Development, software testing domain. Experience in Telecom, Billing and Roaming domain skills will be an additional advantage.
Expertise in formal software testing methodologies Integration testing, Conformance testing, Module and Functional testing, Conduct document inspections & reviews, Scripting and automated software testing tools.
Working technical experience with designing, building, installing, configuring, and supporting Unix servers and storage servers and management software
3+ years experience working with Mercury Test Director, QTP, and Performance Center, Load Runner testing tools.
Responsible for dealing with International/Domestic Clients.
The ability to build strategic relationships within the organization and with all levels.
Bachelors degree in Engineering in Computer Science/ Electronics or equivalent
Hands-on Experience in Java and J2EE.
Knowledge Requirements
Good knowledge of UNIX and SQL.
Strong Backend and Front-end testing experience.
