Who We're Looking For This position is responsible for building, enhancing and supporting Syniverse Products and Services. The incumbent will possess a high degree of experience and skill working across all functions. Other responsibilities include mentoring team members and evaluation of new technologies. E - Some of What You'll Do Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Engineering Facilitate design of software modules conforming to the functional/ integration/ performance/ user experience requirements. Internal technical overviews Requirement analysis and sign-off Design sign-off Provide technical leadership to the team Provide input for operational aspects. Root Cause Analysis & resolution of production issues and customer reported issues. Effort estimates (Level of effort, rough order of magnitude etc.) Evaluation of new technologies and determine technical feasibility Proof of concept for upcoming technologies and emerging domain specific technologies Process Adhere to the defined process to ensure timely high quality deliverables Produce technical artifacts and documentation; Review artifacts & documents created by team members Furnish individual & project/release status reports Timely escalations, follow-ups and responses Cross functional Work closely with other functional areas to ensure that project schedules are met with a high level of quality. Knowledge sharing sessions to team members & other cross functional teams Coordination with customer support / operations in supporting the resolution of customer issues Test strategy review Sr Technical Architect will have the following added responsibilities: Design solution architecture that meets functional, performance and user experience requirements and signoff. External technical overviews and determine technical feasibility Provide input for business case development, market analysis. Establish guidelines (Dos & Don’ts) for engineering team Innovative ideas; product enhancement suggestions Provide inputs for driving technical roadmap for the product Explore and utilize/apply new technologies to solve complex issues Drive and Popularize generic Architecture and Design frameworks across other project teams Drive and Popularize reusable components. Maintain technical expertise by keeping abreast of technologies as they apply to Syniverse products and services. Provide inputs to improve existing processes Job Requirements: Technical Architect 8-10 years of Software Development Experience Bachelors degree in Engineering in Computer Science/ Electronics or equivalent Experience in Java and J2EE Good analytical and problem solving skills Good Knowledge of SDLC Experience of application of RDBMS concepts for large scale Enterprise applications. Extensive Experience in Software design and architecture of Enterprise systems Experience/ Knowledge of Telecom domain highly preferred Experience working with Cross-functional teams – QA, Operations, Product and Program Managers Experience in capturing requirements interfacing with the Customers/ Product/ Program Managers Experience working with teams in diverse geographic locations Extensive Experience working with third party vendor tools (e.g. monitoring, scalability, performance tuning) Extensive experience in software design processes and methods Extensive experience working with Microsoft Office applications Experience using a source code management tool System architecture experience Extensive experience in designing, developing, implementing and supporting applications on following Operating Systems: UNIX, Windows Interpersonal Skills Strong analytical, business logic and problem resolution skills Strong oral and written communication skills Strong control and follow-up skills Solid decision making skills.
