Job Description
Are you looking to be part of an innovative and growing team? We’re searching for a Specimen Reception Aide (SRA) to join our agile Histology department. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to kickstart their career in pathology, with full training and support provided. You'll play a key role in the team, and your responsibilities will include:
Specimen Reception & data entry: Accurately receive, verify, and log specimens, ensuring they are correctly documented and labelled.
Specimen Management: Prioritize and manage specimens with specific storage needs and input accurate doctor and billing details into the system.
Documentation & Reporting: Resolve discrepancies, address issues, and manage sensitive patient information with care and confidentiality.
Collaboration: Work closely with lab staff and administrative teams to keep things running smoothly, ensuring a seamless workflow.
What we’re Looking For:
Full-time availability Monday to Friday (AM/PM rosters), with flexibility to work weekends and overtime as required.
Strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
A team player with a positive, motivated attitude.
Experience in specimen reception or laboratory systems (e.g. PowerPath) is desirable but not essential – full training will be provided.
