The CTCT division (a joint venture between Trimble and Caterpillar) develops positioning, control, and automation products for earthmoving and paving machines in the construction and mining industries, using technologies such as GNSS, optical total stations, lasers, and sonics. What Makes This Role Great:
In this role, you’ll move beyond traditional documentation to influence the entire user journey, from machine operators to complex service technician workflows. You will have the unique opportunity to experiment with emerging trends like AI-assisted writing and embedded video, directly impacting how operators around the globe interact with heavy earthmoving equipment.
Key Exciting Responsibilities
Design and deliver high-impact, user-focused content, including UX writing, dynamic video, and UI-integrated help that empowers operators to succeed
Execute the Information Experience vision across multiple product lines, transforming complex technical data into seamless, integrated content experiences
Collaborate with global experts in Engineering, UX, and Product to advocate for the customer and influence product decisions with a customer -first mindset
Optimise content design by researching user behavior and conducting validation testing to identify and solve real-world pain points.
Essential Skills & Experience
Experience: 5+ years of experience writing technical content for complex software or hardware products
Portfolio: A strong portfolio that showcases clear, thoughtful content in a range of formats or delivery methods
Technical Writing: Proven ability to balance technical accuracy with accessibility for diverse user personas
Education: Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, English, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
Bonus Points For:
Experience with structured content authoring tools, specifically MadCap Flare
Familiarity with version control systems and agile development practices
Background in construction, civil engineering, or heavy equipment industries.

Location: Christchurch, New Zealand (In-Office).
