Role Purpose
Civica India is seeking a self-motivated, enthusiastic, and expert Technical Mentor with considerable exposure to Software Testing (Manual and Automation) and who is keen to join a multi-cultural software company. The successful candidate will be responsible for strategizing, and executing large-scale training and development plans to upscale, cross-train and retrain software Testers.
Technical Mentor will be contributing towards technical assessments in hiring, promotion, and cross-functional movements. And, help enhance capability of bench and graduates, tracking the training progress, conducting assessments, and reporting.
This role will be measured by the criteria, such as, overall contribution in driving organizational strategy in skills development, enhancement, and assessment, as well as, on-boarding skilled resources.
In general, travel to the UK could be one visit every 2 years. This can be at short notice and this frequency is not guaranteed as all travel is based on a clear business or project requirement. A passport is essential.
Principal Accountabilities
• Mentoring graduates, bench resources, and team of experienced Software Testers (need basis).
• Handling and managing reporting of bench resources.
• Proactively identifying technical training requirements for software Testers (from Junior Test Analyst to Sr. Test Managers) working within Vadodara.
• Contribute into devising learning and development plans and initiatives with practice managers.
• Drive learning and development plans to upscale and reskill (e.g., Manual to Automation) software Testers across levels
• Co-ordinating with external training vendors/ institutes to fulfil ad-hoc or recurring technical requirements.
• Contributing to hiring process, and interviews.
• Supporting practice managers in respective practice areas.
• Leading the graduate program from technical front.
• Support in org-level activities with guidance from practice managers
• Report progress to respective practice managers.
• Liaison with concerned stakeholders for Practice initiatives. (e.g., Graduate Trainee Coordinator, Resourcing team, etc...)
• Comply with Civica’s ISO +001 Quality Management System.
Requirements
Essential Competencies
• Fluent in spoken English and able to take part in meetings and discussions.
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
• Working knowledge of ALM and Version control tools (primarily, Azure DevOps and Git)
• Having extensive knowledge of Functional testing and Automation testing mainly Selenium, C#, Spec flow, Gherkin
• Aware of Software Testing best practices
• Ability to conduct technical trainings for large group (30+) of people with diverse experience range.
• Ability to conduct technical evaluations for external candidates and employees.
• Good leadership and mentoring quality.
• Proactive personality and able to work autonomously.
• Good team player.
• Ability to work at detailed and abstract levels.
• Ability to guide junior team members.
• Self-learner.
• Innovative mind-set to do things differently.
