Classification: ANU Officer 4/5 (Technical)
Salary package: $79,314 to $95,530 per annum plus 17% superannuation
Terms: Fixed term, Part time (0.5FTE, 17.5 hours per week) (up to March 2029)

Contribute to an industry-driven Australian Research Council funded project delivering real-world outcomes
Play a key role in providing technical and laboratory support across the project.

About the opportunity

This position is a fixed term, part time appointment for a period of up to 3 years to contribute to the Australian Research Council funded project "Upcycling organic ‘waste’ into novel climate-friendly fertilisers". The Technical Officer will give laboratory support across the project taking regular gas samples of composting trials, looking after plants in the greenhouse and conducting chemical analyses of environmental samples. Such analyses will involve carbon and nitrogen measurements, together with plant nutrient extraction and analysis. The appointee will also help with general maintenance of soils facility/lab and provide assistance in the coordination of the lab inventories including the preparation and/or ordering of supplies, providing cost estimates on laboratory purchases and managing the timely delivery of orders.
