The Role
The position of Technical Pricing Engineer uses a blend of a high level of technical knowledge/experience and sales ability to determine customer needs, spec out complex technical systems, and ensure that pricing meets the needs of both the business’s expected profit margins and customers’ budget(s).
Use technical process automation experience, knowledge to gather and assimilate information for the required automation solutions.
Identify and price reliable technical solutions for customers that will enhance the efficiencies and productivity of their factories.
Request proposals and quotes from suppliers for hardware and software requirements when required for projects.
Request proposals and quotes from contractors for specialised technical requirements when required for projects.
Preparation of tender submissions & quotes of up to agreed values & within set time frames.
Travel as required to visit customers’ sites locally and throughout New Zealand.
Requirements
8 plus years of Automation Engineering experience, including experience developing complex automation engineering solutions and the quotes/pricing/tenders for those solutions.
Experience with version control tools/process, applying industry standards and emerging trends in the following areas:
Automation Engineering Hardware
Automation Engineering PLC Software & Languages
Automation Engineering HMI Software & Development
Automation Engineering Database Design & Development
Automation Engineering Electronic Reporting / Data Capture
Automation Engineering Standards
Automation Engineering Networks
Automation Engineering Technical Documentation
Engineering product knowledge of Hardware, Software PLC & HMI applications and industrial networking to enable preparation of quotes and tenders that offer enhanced solutions to the customer’s requirements.
Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and Electronic Reporting knowledge to enable preparation of quotes and tenders that offer enhanced solutions to the customer’s requirements.
Use of pricing tools e.g. Integrated Architecture Builder / Eco Struxure Plant Builder or similar.
Use of Microsoft Excel.
You will be familiar with and mentor others to follow quality standards, company policies, procedures and methodologies.
Have a high level team spirit and be actively involved in using collaboration skills throughout the delivery and commissioning of projects.
