Technical Product Owner – AWS Cloud

Retail Technology Services (RBS) provides the underpinning technology for simple, convenient and affordable banking and general insurance products and services to personal and private bank customers, helping them manage their everyday banking needs, buy a home, protect their assets or invest for the future.
We are responsible for leading our retail end-to-end digital-first customer experience strategy, driving innovation, improving customer engagement and creating new business opportunities through partnerships, ventures and the Group’s digital ecosystem.

We are looking to hire a Senior Product Owner to develop and deliver the vision for our Platform Modernisation within the Core Banking Product Crew in Retail Technology. This high availability, modernised platform powers many critical elements of the customer experience for our products
Specifically you will,
Define product vision, goals and roadmap, aligned to Crew objectives and purpose, and engage with key stakeholders (Business and Technology) to manage its delivery.
Accountable for end-to-end value delivery and product lifecycle management (including managing requirements lifecycle, production deployment and release day coordination and sign off). Works with the squad and the crew to determine who is best to perform change request and delivery framework related administrative tasks.
Act as the voice of the customer and business and translate this for the squad.
Apply expertise to support prioritisation, balance trade-offs, and explore strategies to successfully achieve business and customer outcomes.
Accountable for addressing impediments, driving decisions and resolving escalations.
Drive product exploration (e.g. using design thinking and analytics) and formulate hypotheses to validate product strategy / design.
Identify, articulate and manage risks, dependencies and compliance across streams of work e.g. customer propositions.
Maintain a healthy and prioritised backlog to deliver business and customer outcomes.
Manage senior business and technical stakeholders to ensure that prioritisation is understood and agreed to.
Manage the squad’s performance to defined objectives including OKR tracking, etc.
Drive squad effectiveness and agile maturity i.e. sprint burn down, release burn up, and squad/team health in partnership with Agile Coaches and Performance Leads.
We’re interested in hearing from people who have :
A background in Technology Product Ownership within Banking and Financial Services.
Experience in transformation journey to public cloud.
Good knowledge of AWS Public Cluud or AWS native.
Exposure to regulatory and compliance from open banking
Strong analytical skills and commercial acumen
Experience/accreditation as a Product Owner is highly regarded
Experience in an Agile environment is desirable

Experience with effective planning and the ability to contribute to tactical and strategic planning in support of the business plan
