The Technical Script Writer is responsible for developing clear, engaging, and technically accurate scripts for videos, tutorials, product demos, training materials, and other multimedia content. This role bridges technical expertise and storytelling, transforming complex information into compelling narratives that educate and inform diverse audiences.
Key Responsibilities
• Write, edit, and proofread scripts for technical videos, e-learning modules, product explainers, and other media formats.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs), engineers, and designers to ensure accuracy and clarity in all content.
• Translate complex technical concepts into user-friendly, engaging, and accessible language.
• Research technologies, tools, and processes to ensure up-to-date and accurate content.
• Align scripts with brand voice, instructional design principles, and visual storytelling standards.
• Work closely with video producers and animators to ensure the script fits timing, visuals, and tone.
• Maintain consistency in terminology, formatting, and messaging across all technical content.
• Review and update existing scripts or documentation based on product updates or feedback.Qualifications
Education:
• Bachelor's degree in Technical Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience:
• 1+ years of experience writing for technical or instructional content (e.g., video scripts, tutorials, or e-learning).
• Proven ability to write for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams (developers, designers, trainers, etc.).
Skills:
• Exceptional writing and editing skills, with a focus on clarity and precision.
• Strong understanding of technical concepts (software, hardware, engineering, etc.).
• Ability to adapt tone and style for different audiences and platforms.
• Familiarity with script formatting, storyboarding, and video production workflows.
• Basic understanding of multimedia tools (e.g., Adobe Premiere, After Effects, or Captivate) is a plus.
• Excellent time management and organization skills.
