Job Description Job Description The Technical Documentation team at Rockwell Automation is looking for a Technical Writer to contribute documentation for the products in the Plex Portfolio, including Enterprise Resource Planning, Manufacturing Execution System, Quality Management System, Asset Performance Management, Supply Chain Planning, Production Monitoring, and Automation and Orchestration. This will involve working closely with engineering teams and product managers to outline important configuration and tasks, and turn those into documentation for a diverse audience. Key Responsibilities Are The Following • Outline, write, and edit user-focused and task-based technical documentation. • Collaborate with multiple teams and interview varying stakeholders to document configuration requirements, user tasks, troubleshooting guides, and other software functionality. • Present documentation drafts or final versions to technical writing team. • Revise existing documentation based on internal or customer feedback. • Provide recommendations for customer-facing messages during software development. • Follow existing style guides and writing standards. • Work both independently and in a dynamic team environment, collaborating with other writers, developers, product managers, QA, and customer support. Basic Qualifications • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience. • Experience with technical communication and documentation. • Experience following writing styles guides like the Microsoft Manual of Style or the Chicago Manual of Style. Preferred Qualifications • Experience with Git source control. • Experience in web application development, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript. • Experience with developing technical documentation for a diverse audience. • Experience with MadCap Flare. • Experience with Atlassian Jira and Confluence. • Understanding of API methodologies
