Job description: Are you a detail-oriented wordsmith with a knack for making complex information easy to understand? Do you have 6 months to 1 year of experience in technical writing, especially in UI/UX contexts? If so, we want you to join our team as a Junior Technical Writer! In this role, you'll collaborate with our talented designers, developers, and product managers to create engaging and user-friendly documentation for our cutting-edge software products. What You'll Do: Craft Clear Content: Develop and maintain user guides, help content, newsletters, and instructional materials that make our products a breeze to use. Collaborate: Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand product features and translate them into concise and effective UI text, including tooltips, error messages, and on-screen instructions. Ensure Consistency: Maintain a consistent tone, style, and terminology across all user-facing content, contributing to a seamless user experience. User-Centered Writing: Participate in user research and usability testing to gather insights and continuously improve documentation based on real user feedback. Contribute to Style Guides: Assist in the creation and maintenance of our UI/UX writing style guide, ensuring our content is always top-notch. What We're Looking For: Experience: 6 months to 1 year of technical writing experience, with a focus on UI/UX writing preferred. Job description
As a Technical Writer at Ultrahuman, you will be responsible for producing internal and external documentation that is highly detailed, accurate, and appropriate for both the internal teams, vendors, and legal teams. You will have a strong understanding of consumer electronics, the technologies involved, and the principles of mechanical and electronic engineering. Your role will involve staying updated on the latest industry trends and developments, particularly in consumer and medical electronics.
Key Responsibilities:
• Research and gather information on ideas and requirements given to you by the R&D Team on consumer and medical electronic technologies and products.
• Create, edit, and maintain technical documents such as specification documents, patent descriptions, reports, user manuals, and more.
• Collaborate closely with the engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and comprehensive documentation.
• Stay current with industry trends and advancements in electronics and technology.
• Review and edit existing documentation for clarity, accuracy, and completeness.
• Ensure all documentation is compliant with company standards and guidelines. Help bring in new process improvements in the final documents that help us improve the product and the production processes.
• Assist in developing and maintaining templates and style guides for technical documentation.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics and Electrical Engineering or any related field.
• Proven experience of 2-3 years in technical writing, particularly in the aerospace, consumer, and medical electronics sectors.
• Strong understanding of consumer electronics, mechanical engineering, and electronic technologies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable.
• Familiarity with documentation tools and software.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience writing patents and technical specifications.
• Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements for medical electronics.
