Job Description
Objectives of this role:
As Technical Writer, you will work with Technical Program Management and Software development teams to ensure Cockpit SW products release ontime with high quality documentation defining integration, features, release notes, and product requirements. You will own documentation in your product area including reviewing feedback and providing next steps. You will evaluate product requirements through QA results to ensure your documentation is accurate and covers the full product scope. You will represent customer feedback to TPMs and PMs for future updates.
Your Role:
• Own and ensure high-quality, at-cost, and on-time documentation of the assigned product
• Monitor release updates (including bug fixes) for activities that require documentation. Writing changes to facilitate integration either through GES, regional teams, or directly with the end customer.
• Develop and track release features and version numbers. Correctly releasing documentation updates with a security process.
• Support engineering resource staffing onto product engineering team by coordinating among Lead, Technical Program Managers, and with competency managers
• Design and develop technical product roadmap to ensure delivery to product roadmap
• Define the release plan for platforms based on breakdown of product features into modules based on customer requests and engineering efforts.
• Develop product development workplan (including external team resources) by estimating time and resources required, and identifying inter-dependencies and risks
• Refine or update technical product roadmap as needed during the product development phase, to reflect available resources and accommodate updates in product roadmap
• Ensure API design is well documented and meets customers standards, developing or coordinating the development of sample code for complex implementation reference.
• Collaborate with Product Manager and Software Development Manager to refine product roadmap
• Provide inputs on technical feasibility, resource requirement, timeline, conflicts, HMI feedback etc.
Your Background:
• At least 2 years documenting enterprise level products with a focus on product integration.
• Proven ability to read code and update documentation based on code.
• Technical background (scripting experience such as Java, Perl, PHP, Ruby, or HTML plus)
• Experience working in Agile workplace
• Proven experience with escalation management, customer communication, and program status updates
• JIRA, Confluence, Enterprise 1, Planview Projectplace, and Teams experience a plus
• B2B experience a plus
• Prior experience working with TPMs preferred
