Position Overview
This Technical Writer opportunity will be a part of Proposal Management team creates precise technical content for IT proposals and contributes to the knowledge repository. This remote role in Western Canada involves collaborating with stakeholders integrating graphics, text, and media into presentations with creativity and detail. Ideal for those experienced in IT Services, the position requires exceptional technical writing, continuous learning, strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and high-quality standards. Flexible hours are occasionally necessary to meet client deadlines. Reporting to the Proposal Team Manager, the role emphasizes content management experience.
Responsibilities
• Content Creation: Create compelling and persuasive content by thoroughly understanding company services, service models, technical processes, and industry-specific terminology. This involves conducting expert interviews, utilizing pre-written documents, and making insightful observations.
• Proofreading and Editing: Ensure the highest quality standards by meticulously proofreading and editing various materials, including RFP responses, correspondence, and presentations, ensuring adherence to spelling, grammar, and style standards.
• Content Management: Write, assemble, and manage the content repository and related documents, ensuring organized and accessible information.
• Content Enhancement: Continuously organize, edit, revise, and improve pre-written content libraries to maintain relevance and effectiveness.
• Repository Updates and Reporting: Track content repository updates and provide regular reports to the proposal manager, ensuring accurate documentation of changes and progress.
• Client Presentation Preparation: Assemble and create engaging slides for post-submission client presentations, emphasizing clarity and professionalism.
• Content Support: Assist content contributors in choosing appropriate mediums and formats for presentations, guaranteeing content quality and adherence to established standards.
• Deadline Management: Demonstrate willingness and ability to handle the demanding work schedule required by the RFP response process, manage multiple projects, adapt to fast-paced environments, adjust plans according to changes, and meet strict client deadlines efficiently.
Requirements
• Degree in computer science, Information Technology, Technical Communication, or a related field
• 3+ years of experience as a Technical Writer in IT services industry or similar high-tech industries
• Exceptional technical writing skills with attention to detail, excellent reading comprehension and ability to communicate key messages in a clear and concise manner.
• Ability to understand IT services concepts and hardware systems is crucial, enabling the translation of complex technical information into understandable and persuasive language for RFP response.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and the desire to continually learn and improve these skills up to expert levels. Experience in creative design using Adobe tools is advantageous.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and the confidence to work with senior experts.
• High sense of ownership and urgency, energy and ability to meet deadlines
