The Repair Technician evaluates damaged merchandise and determines the cost effectiveness of recommended fixes, then efficiently carries out all duties for repair and refurbishment of musical instruments according to established quality and time guidelines. Other duties, assignments, and specific projects may be assigned at the discretion of executive management.
• Successfully fulfills duties and responsibilities with regular supervision
• Conducts performance tests on instruments to evaluate their sound quality and to locate defects
• Disassembles/reassembles instruments and parts for repair and adjustment
• Inspects, repairs, and adjusts returned instruments prior to re-stock
• Repairs and reconditions used and trade-in instruments as required
• Grades instruments appropriately for used inventory
• Polishes instruments using rags and polishing compounds, buffing wheels, or bur
