About the Opportunity
As part of our casual technician pool, you will be engaged on an as-needed basis to support the delivery of events and productions. This role offers variety, flexibility and the opportunity to work across a diverse program of performances and functions.
You will provide technical support across lighting, audio, audio-visual systems and staging, ensuring events are delivered safely, professionally and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
Set up, operate and pack down lighting, audio, AV and staging equipment
Provide technical support for performances, events and venue hires
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues as they arise
Prepare venues to a high standard, including pre-event briefings
Maintain equipment and ensure backstage areas are safe and organised
Deliver excellent customer service to clients, performers and patrons
Support workplace health and safety and compliance requirements
About You
You are a reliable and adaptable technician who enjoys working in a fast-paced, event-driven environment. You bring a positive attitude, strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to high-quality service delivery.
You will have:
Experience in a similar role within an arts, entertainment or cultural venue
Skills in sound, lighting and audio-visual systems
Strong communication and customer service skills
The ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
A proactive, team-focused approach
Desirable (but not essential)
Qualifications in Live Production, Performing Arts or similar
Dogman/Rigger licence, EWP, First Aid or Test & Tag certification
Experience with theatre rigging and lighting systems
Additional Requirements
Current Driver Licence
Ability to obtain a Working with Vulnerable People Check and National Police Check
