The Technical Architect & Manager for HemoCue is responsible for Digital Solutions Platform which includes mobile, desktop and cloud applications. This person will also be responsible for managing a team of software developers.
This position is part of the HemoCue’s R&D team at Danaher India Development Center (IDC) in Bangalore and will be hybrid. At HemoCue, our vision is to do things easier, to do things better, and to do them right.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
• Design & Architect a strong Digital Solutions platform for a large global installed base of portable medical devices.
• This evolving connectivity platform will serve customers across geographies, cater to multiple market segments and across multiple platforms (Desktop and Mobile). The platform will also have a long term aim to provide best-in-class remote support and “over-the-air” medical device firmware update capability alongside operational analytics for product improvements.
• Assess requirements and choose the appropriate architecture pattern, front and backend tech stack to build the platform.
• Interface between stakeholders and the development team / engineering team. Gather and translate from functional to technical requirements.
• Form the technical backlog of work items, efficiently plan bi-weekly iterations, and manage releases.
• Provide strong technical foresight and mentoring to the team to develop the Digital Solutions Platform, ensuring the quality of the codebase and tests is maintained.
The essential requirements of the job include:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or Information Technology
• ~15 years of proven experience in coding and systems/architecture design with noticeable successful deliverables on desktop and mobile platforms preferably using Java technologies and Android Development
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity vulnerabilities, threat modelling and certification for software systems
• Experience in developing and maintaining software for MedTech
• Must have worked in agile/scrum environment
• Must have working experience on cloud, preferably AWS
• Strong object-oriented analysis, design and programming skills
• Good exposure to team management.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
• Good understanding of software development processes, preferably for a regulated medical devices environment (ISO13485, ISO62304 - Medical device software – Software life cycle processes)
• Ability to work with cross-functional and remote teams
• Flexibility to work on different areas of the product/platform
• Good written and verbal English communication
• Ability to travel as needed (minimal)
