We are seeking suitable candidates for the position of Senior Technician for Microchip’s MCU32 division to support validation and characterization of
32-bit microcontrollers. Microchip is a world leader in 8, 16, and 32- bit microcontrollers. The Technician will be part of the Silicon evaluation Lab activities,
closely working with Validation engineers while managing day to day activities of the Lab. This position is based in Bangalore, India.
Requirements/Qualifications
Required Skillset/Experience
• Diploma / ITI / B.E / B.Tech with 5 - 6 years experience.
• Proficient in using Lab equipment (Oscilloscopes, Function generators, Logic analyzers, , power supplies, DVM, Temp streamer)
• Upkeeping of the products and components
• Manage and maintain Validation lab and equipment.
• Experience in handling Boards and soldering components on PCB
• Able to handle shipping and logistics
• Basic knowledge of circuits and networks
• Experience in measuring and debugging issues on the boards.
• Ability to read schematics, and experience with troubleshooting analog and digital electronic circuits.
• Familiar with handling and safety procedures of hazardous materials
• Good at documentation both work and PPT. Experience in Microsoft Office. (Excel, Word)
• Experience in PCB design is plus
• Willingness to learn new things and ability to ask questions
• Should be a team player with good communication skills oral and written
• Demonstrate ability to work successfully in diverse product engineering teams
• Flexible and willing to take on whatever tasks are required
Job Requirements
• Team Lab Support
• Inventory management and tracking of lab components, equipment, parts
• Collect requirements for lab components from team and place purchase order
• Capital Equipment Purchase :
• Getting quote from vendor, reviewing the quote and negotiation as per our budget.
• Technical Specification support for the purchase team .
• Capital Equipment Purchase.
• Tracking the Equipment and getting it delivered on time.
• Follow up on the new equipment installation if required.
• Equipment Tracking:
• Allocation and tracking of the non-bonded equipment for the users.
• Tracking of the Thermostream usage by the team.
• Assisting team with the facilities during compressor issues or power issues for thermostream
• Checking with other teams for equipment rent and tracking of the same.
• Calibration and Sharepoint management:
• Scheduling calibration of equipment once a year.
• Assisting vendor during calibration activities
• Scanning the calibration certificate and uploading it to the share point.
• Managing the Equipment details in the file.
• Adding the new equipment to the inventory list in SharePoint.
• Audit preparations
• Preparations for the internal and external audit
• Presenting the MCU32 LAB for the internal and external auditors
• Shipment of Silicon to CHN or NTO:
• Packing and shipping the silicon/hardware to other sites if needed.
• Tracking and managing the Silicon in lab.
• Other miscellaneous works:
• Support in assigning and setting up the bench for new joiners.
• Support on the Rework:
• Board rework
• Handling the components like resistors, capacitors, jumper wires etc
• Data Collection support:
• Data collection support when the operator is not in office.
• Board design:
• Contributing towards board design activities is an added advantage
