Tātaki Auckland Unlimited (TAU) is Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland’s cultural, events and destination agency. It is an Auckland Council-controlled organisation that works to make Auckland a vibrant place to live and visit, through events, experiences and taonga (treasures).

He angitūtanga: The opportunity

We’re looking for motivated and reliable Casual Technicians to join our Technical Production team at Auckland Live.

Our technicians play a critical role in assisting in the technical delivery of services to all events undertaken by our Production Department across Auckland Live and Conventions and Tātaki Auckland Unlimited presented and co-produced events.

Your daily responsibilities will consist of:

Set up and pack down technical equipment in many different venues

Work on many different event types including theatre productions, musicals, dance, concerts, conferences, meetings, product launches, etc.

Work alongside highly experienced technicians with state of the art equipment and systems.

Work with artists, promotors, and corporates ranging from community to international event companies

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

Essential

Flexibility with working hours, including overnight shifts and weekends

Physically fit and strong, with the ability to safely handle equipment

Good communication and client engagement skills

Ability to work under direction, in co-operation with others, and self-directed as needed

Desirable

Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in the technical event industry

Broad knowledge of theatre terminology and working practices

Good understanding of Sound and Vision equipment, including sound systems, projection equipment, LED screens, cameras, and streaming equipment
