Taronga Zoo is looking for an experienced Technology Services Team Leader to join our Technology team. Based at the zoo, in the zoo grounds, this extremely unique role brings together the worlds of conservation and technology!

About the Role…
The Technology Services Team Leader supports the IT Helpdesk and Technology Support functions by coordinating day-to-day activities and providing guidance to ensure timely and effective resolution of incidents and service requests across Taronga Zoo (Mosman) and Taronga Western Plains Zoo (Dubbo).

The role balances hands-on technical support with workflow coordination responsibilities, assisting the Technology Manager in maintaining high-quality customer service and reliable IT systems.

Key Accountabilities…
Coordinate day-to-day workflows for Helpdesk and Technology Support Officer(s), fostering collaboration and consistent service delivery.
Act as the first point for routine technical escalations and refer complex issues to the Technology Manager or Infrastructure Specialist.
Assist with daily helpdesk operations, ensuring requests are logged, triaged, and progressed in line with established procedures.
Track queue health and provide input to KPI and SLA reporting managed by the Technology Manager.
Provide hands-on support for escalated incidents and technology tasks, including desktop, laptop, mobile devices, and standard SOE builds.
Coordinate the asset management lifecycle, including arranging procurement activities such as obtaining quotes and liaising with suppliers.
Maintain documentation, knowledge base articles, and asset records according to established standards.
Contribute to IT projects as directed, providing input on support requirements and assisting with BAU handover.
Provide backup support across AV, helpdesk, and technology support functions when short-staffed.
Support the Technology Manager in planning and continuous improvement activities led by management.
Participate in the on-call roster to provide after-hours support as required.
Comply with Taronga’s Customer Service Charter and suggest initiatives for improvement.
Comply with sustainability practices and Work Health and Safety requirements.

About You…
We are looking for candidates that have:
Tertiary qualification or demonstrated further learning in Information Technology or a related discipline.
Ability to coordinate and support team activities in a technical environment.
Sound experience in installing, supporting, and troubleshooting Microsoft Windows Operating Systems.
Experience with Microsoft System Centre Configuration Manager (SCCM) and Microsoft Intune for device deployment and compliance.
Working knowledge of Active Directory and Microsoft 365.
Experience supporting and maintaining endpoint protection tools.
Excellent customer service and communication skills, with ability to support users in a diverse, fast-paced environment.
Current Class C Driver’s Licence (or equivalent) recognised by NSW authorities.
Obtain and maintain a current NSW Working with Children Check (Volunteer classification).
