Temporary Bus Driver – Camp Position
Hiring for Multiple Projects
Do you have a passion for driving and safety? Diversified Transportation is currently seeking experienced and safety-minded Class 1 and 2Q Drivers to join our team in the Wood Buffalo area.
If you are ready to work in a camp-based environment with accommodation and meals provided, this could be a great opportunity. We are hiring for multiple full-time temporary positions to transport employees to and from job sites for approximately two to three months, with expected start dates in mid-April.
Travel arrangements will vary depending on the project assignment. Employees are responsible for arranging their own transportation to and from Fort McMurray, and any associated travel or parking cost will not be reimbursed. Flights are available for select roles on certain projects.
Position Details:
Competitive hourly wages with pension
Coach drivers: $29.00 per hour + $6.30 per hour pension
Industrial Bus Drivers: $27.00 per hour + $3.15 per hour pension
Operations run 7 days a week
Rotation is 21 days on / 7 days off or 14 days on / 7 days off (schedule is subject to change based on business needs)
Camp accommodation and meals provided when on shift; check out required after each rotation concludes
Company-provided uniform shirts
Paid training
Unionized environment
Duties and Responsibilities:
Safety mindset to get all of our riders, drivers, and the general public Safely Home
Perform pre- and post-trip inspections
Deliver excellent customer service to passengers and clients
Ensure compliance with Provincial Hours of Service and adhere to all Diversified policies and procedures
Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment
Complete and submit daily DVCR’s and FLRA’s
Candidate Requirements:
Valid Class 1 or 2Q driver’s license
Minimum 2 years of commercial driving experience operating motor coaches, school buses, or other similar large vehicles
Previous industrial / camp experience preferred
Familiarity and good knowledge of Fort McMurray and the surrounding area considered an asset
Ability to obtain clearance for: driving record check (abstract with no more than 3 demerits and a pre-employment check ride, physical demands testing, drug and ******* test, and criminal record check
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
Teamwork and positive mindset
Flexibility to adapt to changing routes, schedules, and job assignments
